Proper toothbrush care is important. A toothbrush with frayed bristles is less effective in removing plaque and keeping your teeth, gums and mouth clean. The American Dental Association recommends replacing your toothbrush every three to four months.
How you care for your toothbrush also matters. Make sure to rinse your brush thoroughly after each use and dry it before storing it in an enclosed space or container.
